David Benioff (Executive Producer, Writer) and D.B. Weiss (Executive Producer, Writer) break down Episode 4 in ‘Inside The Episode’ –

On Dany and Jon – “After the feast she comes to talk to him and with the intention of making this all work out, of bringing things back to the way they were before. There’s a moment where they’re kissing and it seems like things are kind of getting to where they were but it’s almost as if he remembers all the sudden what she really is. It’s tense for him. For her, she grew up hearing all these stories about how their ancestors who were related to each other were also lovers and it doesn’t seem that strange to her, for him it is a strange thing. Once Dany introduces the idea that everything can be as it was if John keeps this secret button down and tells no one. She’s introducing a conflict that plays forward.”

And on Brienne and Jaime – “The vulnerability that they show runs very counter to who they are as people. I do believe it when Jaime decides to stay behind with Brienne, it’s a choice that he makes with every intention of seeing it through. When he hears what Cersei is done, I think that’s the turning point for him. At that point, Jaime really has to take a really long, uncomfortable look at who he really is. As much as Jaime cares for Brienne and admires her and loves her, he’s got almost an addiction to Cersei that he just can’t break. So even though he’s given a kind of a chance at happiness and some kind of different life for himself, he can’t take it – he makes the choice to go back to Cersei.”

In addition, an 18-minute featurette, The Game Revealed: The Last of the Starks, offers fans exclusive insights into how Game of Thrones’ “The Last of the Starks” came together. Featuring interviews with director David Nutter, creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, actors Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) and more, Episode 4 of this behind-the-scenes series takes viewers through the funeral and feast at Winterfell, Euron taking on Daenerys’ fleet, and Cersei’s power move.
