Two New European Original Series premiere only on HBO GO: Stream 30 Coins from February 24 and Kamikaze from March 3

PHILIPPINES, FEBRUARY 17, 2022 –Horror can take different forms. Witness bone-chilling fear of the supernatural in 30 Coins and feel great grief for the loss of loved ones in Kamikaze, two brand-new European Original Series spanning eight episodes each. Filipinos can stream all episodes of 30 Coins on Thursday, February 24 and Kamikaze on Thursday, March 3, only on HBO GO.

30 Coins, an HBO Original horror series directed and co-written by acclaimed Spanish horror master Álex de la Iglesia (The Day of the Beast, The Last Circus), takes viewers into a world of inexplicable terrors. Shot in Rome, Paris, New York, Jerusalem, Geneva, and across Spain, this series follows Father Vergara (Eduard Fernández – El Niño, Everybody Knows), an exorcist who becomes the local priest at Pedraza, a remote Spanish town to escape his past.

However, a child born under unnatural conditions makes it clear that Vergara’s omnipotent enemies have found him, and they would not leave him – or the townspeople – alone. The price to be free of these evil forces is a coin in Vergara’s possession, one of 30 at the heart of a global conspiracy. Vergara is joined by the village veterinarian Elena (Megan Montaner – Sin identidad, La caza: Monteperdido)and Mayor Paco (Miguel Ángel Silvestre – Ferdinand, Sense8) to unearth the secrets of Vergara’s past and get to the bottom of the horrors plaguing their community.

Supporting characters include Paco’s wife Merche (Macarena Gómez – Dagon, Nieves) who has no patience for Elena and Vergara’s distractions; Santoro (Manolo Solo – Pan’s Labyrinth, Marshland) as the nefarious high priest spearheading the search for the final coin; Santoro’s henchman Ángel (Cosimo Fusco – Angels & Demons, Gone in 60 Seconds); and Laguna (Pepón Nieto – Periodistas, Witching and Bitching), leader of the local civil guard.

A new eight-episode second season of 30 Coins will return to HBO in 2023.

In the new Max Original Danish series Kamikaze, fierce and charming 18-year-old Julie (Marie Reuther – Fantomforhold) enjoys a loving family, great friends and a life of privilege. However, after losing her parents and brother in a plane crash, she finds herself alone, surrounded by the things that most people only dream of – youth, beauty and wealth. Yet, material possessions hold no value to Julie anymore and she is forced to search for a reason to go on. She embarks on a wild and turbulent trip from her native Denmark to the far corners of the world.

Tackling themes of immense grief, fear and feeling of powerlessness that come with losing family members at a young age and ultimately finding hope amidst the darkness, the melancholic series features a strong Scandinavian cast. They include her mother Astrid (Charlotte Munck – A War); father Thomas (Johan Rheborg – Sunny Side); and Julie’s psychologist Psyko-Bo (Anders Matthesen, Terkel in Trouble, Checkered Ninja).

Based on the novel “Muleum” by Norwegian author Erlend Loe, Kamikaze made its World Premiere at Series Mania festival in Lille, France, where Marie Reuther won the prize for Best Actress in the International Competition.
