HBO / HBO Max Most Awarded Network or Platform with 38 Wins

Winner of Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Limited Series Company Sweeps Comedy Series Categories

PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 14, 2022– With 48 Emmy® awards, Warner Bros. Discovery (Nasdaq: WBD) was the most-honoured media company at the 74th Annual Primetime Emmy® Awards. HBO / HBO Max received 38 wins, CNN received 1 win, TBS received 1 win and WBTV received 8 wins. The Company earned recognition in all three Outstanding Series categories, with Succession named Outstanding Drama Series, Ted Lasso named Outstanding Comedy Series, and The White Lotus named Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series.

HBO and HBO Max earned more awards than any other network or platform, with 38 awards across shows including Succession, The White Lotus, Hacks, Euphoria, A Black Lady Sketch Show, Jerrod Carmichael: Rothaniel, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

HBO’s The White Lotus was this year’s most recognized show with 10 awards. Warner Bros. Television Group’s Ted Lasso was the king of comedy with seven wins.

PHILIPPINES, MAY 11, 2022 –The Emmy®-winning HBO Original drama series Westworld will debut its eight-episode fourth season same time as the U.S. on Monday, June 27 at 9am only on HBO and HBO GO, with a same day encore at 10pm on HBO. Subsequent episodes will follow every Monday.

Westworld Season 4 is set to continue the dark odyssey about the fate of sentient life on earth.

Returning cast members include Evan Rachel Wood (Mildred Pierce, Thirteen), Emmy® winner Thandiwe Newton (Crash, Line of Duty), Ed Harris (Game Change, Empire Falls), Jeffrey Wright (Angels in America, The Batman), Tessa Thompson (Men In Black: International, Sylvie’s Love), Luke Hemsworth (Neighbours), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) and Angela Sarafyan (Reminiscence, The Good Guys).

PHILIPPINES, APRIL 21, 2022 –Life’s unexpected twists and turns strike two women in utterly different ways in the HBO Original horror-comedy limited series The Baby premiering Monday, April 25, 11.30pm on HBO and HBO GO, as well as the Max Original series Made for Love Season 2 debuting with two new episodes on Thursday, April 28 only on HBO GO. New episodes of The Baby air each Monday up to June 13, while two new installments of Made for Love Season 2 debut every Thursday, with the two final episodes airing on May 19.

Motherhood does not come naturally to some women, as Natasha (Michelle De Swarte) discovers in The Baby, a darkly funny, raw examination of motherhood, from the perspective of a woman who doesn’t want to be one. Aged 38, she is furious that her closest friends are all having babies. But when she is unexpectedly landed with a baby of her own, her life dramatically implodes.

Controlling, manipulative, but incredibly cute, the baby twists Natasha’s life into a surreal horror show. As she discovers the true extent of the baby’s deadly nature, Natasha makes increasingly desperate attempts to get rid of it. She doesn’t want a baby. But the baby definitely wants her.

The series also stars Amira Ghazalla (The Rhythm Section) as Mrs. Eaves, the 70-year-old enigma who has spent the last fifty years living out of her car and seems to be everywhere the Baby is, and Amber Grappy as Bobbi, Natasha’s younger sister, a children’s magician who would love nothing more than to be a parent, to give love and to receive it.

Based on the novel by Alissa Nutting, Made for Love is a poignantly humorous story of modern love and divorce. After discovering that her husband implanted a monitoring device – the Made for Love chip – in her brain, allowing him to track her, watch her and know her “emotional data,” Hazel fled to her desert hometown to take refuge with her outcast father Herbert (Ray Romano) and his synthetic partner, Diane.

In Made for Love Season 2, in order to save her father’s life, Hazel returns to the Hub, Byron’s high-tech palace. But once inside, she becomes ensnared by Gogol’s newest revolutionary (and dangerous) technology.

The series stars Cristin Milioti as Hazel Green, Billy Magnussenas Byron Gogol, Ray Romano as Herbert Green, Dan Bakkendahl as Herringbone, Noma Dumezweni as Fiffany, Caleb Foote as Bennett, and Sarunas J. Jackson as Jay.

PHILIPPINES, MARCH 24, 2022 – The world of fantasy and suspense unravel in HBO’s new Asia Original thriller-comedy series Twisted Strings premiering with two episodes on Sunday, March 27, 9pmon HBO, HBO GO and CATCHPLAY+. Executive produced by acclaimed filmmaker Hou Hsiao-Hsien(The Assassin), the seven-episode Taiwan satire anthology follows with a new installment every Sunday and the final two episodes air back-to-back on April 24.

Twisted Strings follows a series of bizarre deaths in the fictional Taiping City over seven separate stories across parallel time and space. While each story can be viewed independently, it intersects with others in unobvious ways. A funeral, a missing body, a dangerous game, a kidnapping; real and unreal, these incidents are woven in Wu Yuenu’s memories, converging in the mysterious Sailing Castle, where the boundary between fiction and reality is blurred. At the end of the seventh episode, all the clues will come together to reveal the whole story.

The name of the series is inspired by a popular Taiwanese nursery rhyme, which contains lyrics that tell the story of a monkey’s life over seven days. Each episode is loosely based on a line from the song.

Award-winning actress, director and screenplay writer Sylvia Chang (Love Education, 20 30 40) plays Wu Yuenu, the constant linking together the series. Chang said, “This series is full of surprises and humanity, viewers will definitely love it.”Apart from Chang, most key actors such as Lee Kang-sheng, Nikki Hsieh and Hsueh Shih-ling play more than one role across the different episodes.

Conceptualized and written over three years byGolden Horse-nominated director Huang Xi, Twisted Strings aims to see the humour of life and death. Hou who is executive producer of a series for the very first time said, “The Twisted Stringsteam includes staff I have worked with over the years in art direction, production and editing, as well as the actors. Matching them with director Huang Xi’s script and narrative technique will lead to a drama of unique style and presentation. In addition, our collaborative effort with international investors makes Twisted Strings a rarity among Taiwanese dramas.”

The anthology series also has an ensemble of award-winning cast and crew including Golden Horse-winning actor Lee Kang-sheng(Stray Dogs, Days). This is Lee’s first lead role in a series after having starred in films for the past 30 years. Lying behind the mourning hall, Guo Boxiang’s body is ready for the funeral. Perhaps to save his children the trouble or to reassure himself, he made all the arrangements before he died. While trying to find the items during the game, Hong and Wang run into a series of strange coincidences as if their hunt is jinxed. The last task brings them to the cemetery, where a brutal truth buried for years is unveiled…
