New Episodes Premiere Same Time As The U.S., Every Monday At 9am Exclusively On HBO

PHILIPPINES, 2 May 2019 – Following the third episode premiere of GAME OF THRONES Season 8 yesterday, HBO has made available new images and several behind-the-scenes videos from the episode.

·       Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 3: Cast Commentary – An Act of Love

·       Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 3: Cast Commentary – The Great War

·       Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 3: Inside the Episode

David Benioff (Executive Producer, Writer) and D.B. Weiss (Executive Producer, Writer) break down Episode 3 in ‘Inside The Episode’ –

“Because it’s such a long battle, and this episode is important that we feel the ebb and flow and so there are moments when you think things are going a little bit better for the living, we felt like it was important to have that moment of hope when Mel comes in and lights up their oxen and they’ll ride off into battle.”

“We knew this episode was going to be almost entirely battle and that can get really boring, really quickly. You can watch it for a certain number of minutes before the effect starts to dampen. Part of it was making sure that we really stayed focused on the characters, and so whether it’s Arya’s storyline or Sansa, Tyrion down the Crypt or Jon Snow and Dany up in the dragons, kind of like all these separate little battles within the greater battle.”

“Lyanna Mormont was supposed to be a one scene character and then we met Bella Ramsey and we realized that we would not be doing our jobs if we kept her as a one scene character. We knew that you can’t give a big death to everybody who dies in this battle, because it would have (which would have) been too much but there also if she were to die, there was no way to not make a moment of it, so that’s where the zombie giant comes in. It just did add a whole level of complexity to that moment that I’m sure a lot of people would have been okay with not having there if we had demanded to cut it but I think they also understood why we needed to give one of the strongest, smaller people in the show a chance to go out taking down one of the strongest larger things we’ve ever seen the show.”

“I think it’s probably three years now or something we’ve known that it was going to be Arya who delivers that fatal blow.”

In addition, a 40-minute featurette, The Game Revealed: The Long Night where the cast and crew sheds light on the extraordinary 11-week night shoot that culminated in the longest Game of Thrones episode to date, will be made available on HBO Asia’s YouTube channel later.

Carolyn Strauss (Emmy® winner for “Game of Thrones”) and Jane Featherstone (“Broadchurch”) executive produce; Johan Renck and Chris Fry (“Humans”) co-executive produce; Sanne Wohlenberg (“Black Mirror”) produces.

On April 26, 1986, the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine, Soviet Union suffered a massive explosion that released radioactive material across Ukraine, Belarus and Russia, and as far as Scandinavia and western Europe.

Jared Harris portrays Valery Legasov, a leading Soviet nuclear physicist. As part of the response team, he is one of the first to grasp the scope of the unparalleled disaster that has occurred.

Stellan Skarsgård plays Soviet Deputy Prime Minister Boris Shcherbina, who is assigned by the Kremlin to lead the government commission on Chernobyl in the hours immediately following the accident.

Emily Watson portrays Ulana Khomyuk, a Soviet nuclear physicist committed to solving the mystery of what led to the Chernobyl disaster.

Writer, creator and executive producer Craig Mazin began researching the Chernobyl disaster in 2014, using a wide variety of materials, including several books and government reports from inside and outside of the Soviet Union. He spoke to nuclear scientists to learn how a reactor works, and interviewed former Soviet citizens to gain a better sense of the culture in 1986.

Mazin also read a great number of first-person accounts, which helped bring an additional layer of authenticity and humanity to the story. He explains, “When you’re reading the personal stories of people who were there – people who lived near the plant, people who worked at the plant, people who were sent to Chernobyl as part of the effort to clean it up – in those individual accounts, that’s really where the story came alive.”

Principal photography for CHERNOBYL took place in Lithuania and Ukraine, with a creative team including: director of photography Jakob Ihre (“Thelma”); production designer Luke Hull (“Howards End”); editors, Jinx Godfrey (“The Theory of Everything”) and Simon Smith (“Endeavor”); costume designer Odile Dicks-Mireaux (“Brooklyn”); casting directors Nina Gold and Robert Sterne (both two-time Emmy® winners for HBO’s “Game of Thrones”); and composer Hildur Guðnadóttir (“Trapped”).

THE PHILIPPINES, 25 APRIL 2019 – Following the show’s April 6 premiere, the CINEMAX drama series WARRIOR has been renewed for a second season, it was announced today by Len Amato, president, HBO Films, Miniseries and CINEMAX Programming.

“Bruce Lee’s vision is alive and well,” noted Amato. “WARRIOR combines high-energy martial arts with wit and brains. We’re thrilled to renew such a great show for a second season on CINEMAX.”

Among the critical raves for the current season, which premieres same time as the U.S. every Saturday at 10am on CINEMAX, Rolling Stone called the show a “lush action drama” where “the legend becomes fact in an unexpected, wonderful way with all of the bells and whistles of modern TV,” while IGN praised WARRIOR for its “efficient, energetic, and enjoyable [ability to bring] American history to vivid life with verve, intelligence, and memorable fists of fury” and “thoughtful political edge,” and Mashable described it as “triumphant” and “a victory.”

WARRIOR is a gritty, action-packed crime drama set during the brutal Tong Wars of San Francisco’s Chinatown in the second half of the 19th century. The series follows Ah Sahm (Andrew Koji), a martial arts prodigy who emigrates from China to San Francisco under mysterious circumstances. After proving his worth as a fighter, Ah Sahm becomes a hatchet man for the Hope Wei, one of Chinatown’s most powerful Tongs (Chinese organised crime family).
