NICKELODEON ROLLS OUT LANDMARK 25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS


It’s SpongeBob SquarePants’ 25th anniversary and Nickelodeon is celebrating  all year and beyond! Nickelodeon will be rolling out a wide-ranging slate of 25th anniversary programs for SpongeBob SquarePants that invites audiences around the globe to LIVE, EAT, GAME, PLAY and WATCH LIKE A SPONGE. From all-new original content across the Paramount ecosystem and one-of-a-kind fan events, to exclusive consumer products and more, kids and kids at heart are invited to join in the celebrations for the spongiest time ever!

 

Kicking off the content slate is the iconic Kids’ Choice Awards, which will air on Nickelodeon on July 17, at 3:00PM MY PH SG / 2:00PM WIB. Encore telecasts on July 18 at 11:30AM MY PH SG / 10:30AM WIB and on July 20 at 12:00PM MY PH SG / 11:00AM WIB. Kids’ Choice Awards 2024 will be hosted live by SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star from their undersea home of Bikini Bottom, in an animated setting that will be brought to life through enhanced graphics and advanced augmented reality. The Slime-filled, immersive broadcast marks the first time animated characters will host a full-length awards show, and commences an array of multiplatform initiatives for one of the most popular characters and beloved animated series of all time.

 

From July, the SpongeBob SquarePants Anniversary Specials will debut across the world on Nickelodeon and continue to roll out through the year, during which viewers can catch up with former jellyfishing champion Kevin C. Cucumber, journey through different eras of Bikini Bottom, travel 2000 years into the future with Plankton and more. Don’t miss SpongeBob’s Birthday Marathon on July 14, 1:00-3:00PM MY PH SG / 12:00-2:00PM WIB. And from July 22 through to August 2, weekdays at 5:30PM MY PH SG / 4:30PM WIB, brand new episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants will bring more adventures from our undersea friends.

 

In Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie, Bikini Bottom’s resident scientist and squirrel Sandy Cheeks journeys to Texas to save Bikini Bottom from a villainous plot, in the first movie starring a supporting character from the franchise and coming soon to Netflix.

 

And, look out for shorts on Facebook, Instagram and Douyin! Voice talent behind-the-scenes clips, celebrity greetings, original song collaborations featuring local artists, and daily messages of positivity will help you shine #likeasponge! Plus, a whole year’s worth of reels featuring themes like Asian holidays, fashion, and favourite moments from the SpongeBob SquarePants series, posted weekly and available in multiple languages.

·         YouTube Series: An all-new DoodleBob short-form series comes alive on the SpongeBob YouTube channel, as he uses the magic pencil to redraw classic SpongeBob scenes starring himself as the main character.

 

  • SpongeBob Simulator on Roblox: Nickelodeon and Gamefam team up to kick start an epic multiweek SpongeBob 25th Anniversary event (June 21-July 18) on Roblox, where players will experience an unforgettable unlock in SpongeBob Simulator after completing the multigame challenge, as well as exclusive UGC rewards and Bikini Bottom buddies.
